Endometritis vs Endometriosis Explained
Did you know that Endometritis and Endometriosis are two completely different conditions, even though their names sound similar? Endometritis is an infection or inflammation of the uterine lining (endometrium), often caused by infections, childbirth, miscarriage or certain medical procedures. The good news is that it is usually treatable with timely medical care and antibiotics. Endometriosis, on the other hand, is a chronic condition where tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, which can affect fertility and cause ongoing pelvic pain.
Common symptoms of Endometritis may include:
* Pelvic or abdominal pain
* Abnormal vaginal bleeding or discharge
* Fever and chills
* Pain during intercourse or bowel movements
If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, early diagnosis and treatment are important for protecting your reproductive health.
